How to spend money
The decision is made. I'll post pictures in the next several weeks. New granite counter tops, new tile floors, new refrigerator and who knows what else. I have found out how easy it is to spend.

Jack and I have started to get serious about getting some of the "Stuff" done in relation to Mom's estate. We met with Mom and Dad's attorney. He is old and stupid. Makes lots of careless mistakes. I guess it will work out ok. We are going to keep Mom's house in both of our names. Eventually it will go to you kids to get rid of.. Mom and Dad really did a good job of planning. I hope I can do as good for you kids.

My Friend, My Mom
Mom took her last breaths on July 19, 2012. She was at home, surrounded by love, both family and friends. She will no longer have to suffer. We will all miss her and time will not change that. On July 25 we had a memorial service at Sabbath Grace Fellowship. It was a real tribute to Mom. Jack did a fantastic job on the life sketch. There was a slide show ( a tribute to mom's life) Terry Pooler did the Homily and Noel Allen (from Hospice) sang "Great is thy Faithfulness" He sang that when she was doing "ok" and she loved it. About 150 people attended. 125 signed the quest book and there were several that did not. Everyone that new mom loved her. After the Memorial people stayed and talked for about an hour. There is some comfort in knowing just how many people cared. Mom was good people and will be remembered. Kendra flew back to Denver on Saturday July 28 and Holly, Rob, Nick and Karly drove home on Sunday, the 29trh. At times like this it would be a very lonely place without Family and Friends.

Friday night mom went to Florida Hospital. Her drain had clogged and she was in a lot of pain. Saturday a new drain was put in. That gave mom a lot of relief. We were able to bring her home on Tuesday. We had many conversations and smiles. Hospice delivered a Hospital bed, Oxygen and other necessary supplies and equipment. Last night grandma was in and out of our world. This morning grandma was put on the Oxygen. I was never able to talk to her this morning. We moved her from her bed to the hospital bed. Her breathing became labored. She went to her final sleep at 12:22 pm. Thank you to all of you for your kind thoughts and prayers. The fact that so many of you cared so much was a great comfort to mom. She said many times that she had no idea that there were so many people that cared.

Mom came home from hospital on Tuesday July 17. Hospice delivered a hospital bed, Oxygen, O2 generator, and miscellaneous other things. Around the clock nursing was arranged. The first night was a restless one. Mom was up and down. On Wednesday again mom was quite restless. Terry Pooler called and visited for a short time. We missed the window for an interview with mom for church. The Vitas nurse came in midday to evaluate and then the Vitas Doctor came around 9PM Mom is sleeping now but it is not quality rest. We have been given a time frame of about 12 days and maybe less. We are trying to be ready. Kendra will be here Friday afternoon.

Friday morning mom woke up feeling poorly. She was Nauseated and stayed in bed. Around 7:00 mom through up. It was a lot and Black. It was bile and nothing was draining. That night she was feeling horrible so we called Hospice who sent a nurse to check on her. The nurse tried to flush the drain but no good. Mom needed a new stint put in to keep the bile flowing out. The original one was stopped up. At Midnight we were at the ER with her. The Nurse tried to flush the drain also and then the er Dr. tried. After spending the night in the ER, she got a room Saturday morning. Needed to get a ct scan done which we finally got Saturday night. It was late and we would have to wait until Sunday morning before Dr Rush would put the new stint in. Saturday night mom was terribly restless. She fell down, did not hit the group because the nurse was there to catch her. Pain, nausea and serious restlessness make for a person not too happy. Mom was confused and irritated. She wanted to get up. She thought she was at home. Our hope was that we could get home early Sunday Afternoon. She did get calmed down (Nausea and Pain Med) While waiting for the procedure, with her eyes closed she said in a fairly strong voice "Satan, your not going to get me" and she was serious. They did get the stint in but mom has to stay another night. Mom got back to her room around 6:00 and is feeling much better. I thought she was sleeping and I don't think she new I was in the room when she started to pray in a quiet whisper. She named her two sons, her four grandkids, there husbands and boy friends, her four great grandkids, Uncle Eddie and many other friends and family members. All of these people were named by name in a prayer that specifically asked that each of us be in heaven together with her. She is relaxed and sleeping. I can only hope that she rest the whole night.
