Family and Friends

A short update on Mom. Since April 29, mom is down a little more than 20 lbs. She doesn't have a lot of energy. Takes several naps every day. Mom has to be very careful when she eats. If she eats or drinks to fast she gets sick to the stomach. Her servings are small but she does try to eat. Even after resting, she has very little energy. She is now taking one whole pain pill every 4 hours and try's not to miss one. Its best to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to pain. For several days, we had a visiting nurse coming to help with dressing moms bandage for Bile Drain. It was absolutely not a satisfactory arrangement. Last night we met with a Nurse from Vitas Hospice. Very impressive organization. Today another nurse came and did the assessment of what mom needed. From now on her pain meds will be delivered right to the house. First prescription is being delivered Monday. They are also making arrangements for a wheel chair to be delivered on Monday. That will make it easier to bring Mom back to the house for VERY short visits. She really does get worn out in a hurry. Mom has had several friends call or visit. She has such a wonderful attitude. She does everything she can to make it easier on all of us. Its hard to imagine not seeing her. I'll keep in touch and keep you up to date. Thank you for all your love and support.
